France's largest inter-grande-école network

Founded by students, for students, the FMGE is a student-governed federation. Since 2011, it has brought together the students, student groups and media of the grandes écoles, and it is the go-to contact for anyone who wants to reach this student world.

See the historic network

Supporting student life and engagement

Supporting students who get involved: student groups, media, campus projects, public speaking.

Introducing the schools

Making the schools, their programmes and their equal-opportunity schemes known to secondary school pupils, students and their families.

Building connections

Connecting students and schools with companies, institutions, public organisations and local authorities.

Innovating and leading impact projects

Innovation projects with social and societal impact, designed with the academic community, for students, regions and society.

Innovation Lab for Impact

The Lab designs innovation projects with social and societal impact, on a not-for-profit basis and in the public interest: for students, for professionals, for regions. It carries them out with the academic community of the grandes écoles: students, alumni, faculty.

Events

Event director, communications or press relations manager?

The network's student newsrooms cover trade fairs, festivals and conferences as part of learning media professions. As an intermediary between grandes écoles, alumni and public authorities, the FMGE turns every event it attends into a place for meeting and learning.

  • Coverage by student newsrooms, hands-on experience for future journalists.
  • Meetings between students, alumni and decision-makers from the public, education, academic and economic sectors.
  • Open to the grandes écoles: your event accessible to the network's students and alumni.

Helping young people find their path

Choosing a programme, daring to aim for a grande école, succeeding in higher education. The FMGE helps middle school pupils, secondary school pupils and young adults find their path, especially in areas far from higher education, by drawing on its whole ecosystem.

Inform

Showing the diversity of the grandes écoles, their programmes and their admission routes, including parallel admissions and equal-opportunity schemes.

Overcome self-censorship

Giving a voice to students, alumni and professionals from all backgrounds, so that every young person can picture themselves in a grande école.

Secure the transitions

Supporting the move from secondary school to higher education, and then into work.

The historic network

Join the network

The historic network was born on the campuses of fifty grandes écoles, its founding schools. Since 2011, their students have come together in it: engineering schools, business schools, institutes of political studies, écoles normales and universities. The Federation highlights their engagement and brings them together around large-scale projects with national reach.

What the network brings to your school

Recognising your students' engagement

Since the French law of 27 January 2017, students' voluntary engagement can be credited towards their degree (Code de l'éducation, article L611-9). The Federation certifies the responsibilities held and the projects carried out within the network, to support this recognition.

Extending your social inclusion work

The network's guidance activities make your programmes, admission routes and equal-opportunity schemes known to secondary school pupils, students and their families.

Opening your students to national projects

Inter-school projects, meetings with the network's companies, institutions and alumni, and coverage of major events by the student newsrooms.
